APSA will be holding its Spring forum on Tuesday 23 April 2024

This will be in Greenwich, hosted by the University of Greenwich at their campus.

The meeting will begin at 10 am and finish by 5 pm.  For those who will be staying over the night before, there will be an opportunity to meet for dinner.

The title of the forum is Practice Makes Perfect, and we hope to use the event as follow-on discussion from the two most recent meetings, but with a specific focus on practice and expectations of experience to be gained in practice. We will address this from three different perspectives: from three academics, from three students and from three architects in practice.

We would like to hear from you with suggestions for speakers, as follows:

• Academic: Can you provide an example of an innovative delivery of a professional studies module that works closely with practice, or of a means by which you work with practice to support mentoring or pedr monitoring?
• Students: Would one of your Part 1, Part 2 or Part 3 students be willing to describe their expectations for gaining a good experience in practice, providing top tips for guidance?
• Practice: Could you suggest either a small or medium or large practice that might share their expectations of what they desire in employing students at different stages?

Please, contact us if you would like to either put yourself forward or if would like to suggest a student and/or a practice for the other perspectives.

We would like to extend the invitation to this meeting to Professional Examiners and Practice Mentors. Please, feel free to circulate this invite to those contacts. In addition, the committee is inviting colleagues from across the education network, to widen the discussion.
